An extremely disappointing campaign saw Hibs finish in 8th position. A managerial change midway through the season made little difference and replacement coach Malone left before the end of the campaign. Long winless streaks in both halves of the season ended hopes of a successful campaign. Experienced coach Lee Johnson took over in Summer and has overhauled the squad with 11 new signings and plenty of departures. Goalkeeper David Marshall, midfielder Noah Kenneh and winger Aidan McGeady are all quality signings with the potential to help the team push on. The team is struggling to gel so far. The opening games in the League Cup campaign have been poor, with poor results against weak opposition Morton and Falkirk. High number of new signings seem to be struggling to gel. Team is strong in attack with plenty of good options out wide and in the centre. Doidge, Hauge and Henderson are particularly effective forwards, offering a good range of attributes. The backline is a worry for the clubs. Main centre backs Porteous and Bushiri are a little erratic at times and have struggled for consistency at times. Squad may need to boost their defence if they are to boost on this season.

Target

5th. Team will be expecting big improvements but lack the strength to break into the top 4.
