Hull have performed remarkably poorly in the late stages of the previous campaign, having collected only six points from their final twenty Championship games, with this run of form dully resulting in their relegation. The Tigers' board have not won over many fans, having already made a habit of losing key players without replacing them, but what is remarkable is that Hull are in by far the best shape of the three newly-relegated teams, as they are at least not thought to be on the brink of bankruptcy or administration. Grant McCann remains in charge despite the relegation and, is always the case with newly-relegated sides, has seen a lot of players depart, with Eric Lichaj and Jon Toral in particular being among the first names on the team sheet last time around. Not many objections can be made regarding their summer signings. Most of the players that joined are proven at League One level, giving the Tigers both the quality and strength in depth needed to compete for an instant return to the Championship. On squad strength, the Tigers are clearly among the strongest sides in the division, but the atmosphere surrounding the club is very toxic and might prove the biggest obstacle on their road to promotion.

Target

They will be hoping to return to the second tier at the first time of asking.
