MK Dons can be pleased with how the previous season has gone, as they managed to stay up in what was their season of return to the third tier. They made the risky decision in November last year, as they named player Russell Martin their new manager following the departure of Paul Tisdale and that worked well for them so far, with their form improving under the now former defender and this being enough for them to stay up. Martin is now preparing for his first full season as a manager and has overseen a summer transfer window that saw the Dons lose more players than they brought in. While the majority of the players who left were bit-part men, they also lost two rather important players in Rhys Healey and Alex Gilbey. Carlton Morris, Daniel Harvie, Louis Thompson, Warren O'Hara and Richard Keogh are all expected to see considerable playing time, with Morris and Thompson already spending time at the club last season. However, Healey's departure is something that the Dons have not really addressed - he was their sole reliable source of goals when fit last time around, while the return of Morris will hardly fill the fans with confidence regarding him replacing Healey's output, with the striker having netted two in ten during his previous loan stay with the club. The Dons have a side that is more than capable of playing positive football, but a big concern is where the goals will come from.

Target

They will be aiming for a midtable finish but have an inexperienced manager and a mediocre attack so it is not difficult to see them end up battling against the drop.
