A sense of "what could have been" surrounded Mallorca at the end of 2024/25, as only two victories in their last 10 matches meant that they collapsed and missed out on Europe, with fans abusing players like Pablo Maffeo and Cyle Larin who continue to be linked with demanding a move away from the club as a result. To date, there has been little transfer business done at Mallorca and there remain many doubts surrounding key players. In addition to Maffeo and Larin, starting goalkeeper Dominik Greif could also depart with the club already having signed Lucas Bergstrom from Chelsea. Mallorca have yet to recruit in attack, despite being the league's third lowest-goalscorers last season. Pablo Torre adds creativity in midfield, but with no-one scoring more than seven goals last season, Jagoba Arrasate will need to look for alternatives. Where Mallorca were strong was aerially. No team won more of their aerial battles than Mallorca last season, while headers made up a league-high 26% of all goals scored. Vedat Muriqi, who led that effort, will be key again to Mallorca's hopes. Much remains to be seen on the business that has not yet been done by Mallorca, but with last season's top three all coming in the first six games, the islanders will not have long to integrate any new signings into their team.

Target

European qualification. Mallorca were painstakingly close and it was seen as a failure to miss out last season, they must learn from those mistakes to make amends this time.
