It was the 2003/04 season when Adana played at the top level for the last time. Twelve years later, they made a surprise return since they had not been considered as a promotion candidate. After the 12th fixture was played, they fell down to the 12th place and the board decided to change the coach. It was a milestone for a great performance. After that, they lost only six points in nineteen fixtures. It brought the return ticket to the Super League for the Mediterranean team. Of course, coach Engin Ipekoglu was the biggest factor for this success. As expected, the board continued to work with him. He knows that his job will be very difficult at the top level. That is why he tried to strengthen the squad. Ergin Keles, who was the top scorer of the last season with eleven goals, and Nduka Ozokwo, who was a very effective winger with his goals and assists, have left the team along with regular defender Merthan Acil. Some other players including Firat, Mehmet Sedef and Mehmet Sak have also joined different clubs. On the net, young Mert Akyuz stayed and another young keeper Karacic arrived. Along with another teenager keeper, they could face an experience problem. Regulars players like Yigitcan, Emre and Canberk remained. In order to help them, Ethem, Diniz and Digao were signed in. No doubt that the arrival of experienced Viera will teach them a lot. It seems like the defence line is the strongest part of the team. To be honest, the role of Nduka was not filled yet. In order to have offensive efficiency, Baris Memis and Roni arrived but the fans are worried about their level. Up front, there is no real attacker. Yeah, that is right. There are only Gueye, Ahmet and teenager Hakan. The trio have been generally acting like offensive wingers. It seems like the offence line is the weakest part of the team at the moment. After Ergin and Kalu left, the board did not sign anybody yet. If the board cannot add some players to the midfield and the offence line, they could not survive in the Super League. That is obvious.
