Stadium | Selhurst Park (opened 1924) Capacity: 25,486 Pitch Size: 101m x 68m In the early 2,000s the stadium was owned by Selhurst Park Ltd with Crystal Palace FC paying £1.2 million a year in rent. Selhurst Park Ltd was a joint venture between Halifax Bank of Scotland & Rock Group. When the latter collapsed in 2009, the way was clear for the CPFC 2010 consortium to reunite club and Stadium under the same ownership. In April 2018 Crystal Palace announced approved plans to redevelop the main stand which dates back to 1924. This will increase the overall stadium capacity to 34,000. |
Recent History | Ian Holloway would steer Palace back into the Premier League via the Play Off Final in 2012/13, his spell at the club coming to an abrupt end in October 2013. In the period that followed, Tony Pulis and after him Neil Warnock would take the reigns before a more successful spell under Alan Pardew. He guided the team to an FA Cup final in 2016. Later that year Sam Allardyce was brought in to prevent the club being relegated, something he duly delivered. Frank de Boer would spend 77 days at the helm before he was sacked and Roy Hodgson took over in the 17/18 season. There followed a much welcome period of relative stability and in 2018/19 Palace achieved a respectable 12th place in the Premier League. |
