Stadium | As the host of a World Cup final, Champions League final and even Copa Libertadores final, the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu is one of the most historic stadiums in all of world football. Since 1947, it has been Real Madrid’s home and it has gone through a series of transformations since then. The current capacity is 81,000 and it’ll stay similar even though renovation work is currently taking place. The work being done at the stadium is more so to improve the facilities, to add more hospitality options and to build more hotels around the ground. The atmosphere there can be mixed, with lots of tourists and with some fans who aren’t shy about showing their upset if things aren’t going well. The club has installed a singing section behind the south goal in recent years and they constantly sing and support the team, with the aim of encouraging the rest of the stadium to join in. |
Recent History | Real Madrid are the most successful club in Spain and in Europe. No other team can match their tally of LaLiga titles or their European Cups. In recent times Real Madrid have dominated in Europe by winning the Champions League in 2013/14, 2015/16, 2016/17 and 2017/18. They won LaLiga in 2019/20. |
