Dynamo Dresden just about survived last season, with the financial troubles of the team continuing. As a result the appointed in March coach Fiel saw his squad weakened over the summer months. With 5 of the last season’s regulars and the highly rated winger Berko leaving the team Dynamo were certain to struggle finding cheap reinforcements. So far this has proven to be correct with Lowe and Taferner the only 2 of the newcomers potentially considered for starting roles. Due to the fact that only 2 centre-backs are currently on the books, veteran and team’s captain Hartmann might be used out of position this season. His missing presence in midfield will have to be covered for and Taferner seems the obvious choice to take his role. Fiel is known for his preference in using overlapping runs a lot and this makes the signing of Lowe potentially a major improvement. Lowe’s experience combined with Aitgan’s youthfulness and lightning speed should make the left flank of Dynamo really strong. Ebert and Kone lost their starting roles after Fiel took charge in the spring, but both of them could be given another chance. That said Atik is expected to occupy the number ten role in most games, while Roser is having good pre-season and he looks likely to start the new campaign as leader of the attack.

Target

Avoiding relegation is the goal but, with the constantly decreasing finances and relatively small and lacking depth squad, Yellow and Blacks might find it really hard to stay up. Another season of struggles seems inevitable.
