Hannover were poor last year, relegated to the second tier after 2 seasons in the Bundesliga. In the bottom two since December they never looked like getting out of trouble. Lots of outgoings as you would expect from a club who have been relegated, with regulars Bebou, Fullkrug and Schwelger all moving on. Marvin Ducksch has been brought in upfront from Dusseldorf and should be amongst the goals after dropping down a division. Striker Cedric Teuchert also comes in on loan from Schalke to get more game time. Manager Mirko Slomka has sought to address his leaky defence from last year with the signing of Marcel Franke at centre-back and experienced right-back Sebastian Jung from Wolfsburg. Youth could play a part this season with promising U19 talents Gloster, Soto and Neib all promoted up to the first team squad. Goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler comes straight into the number 1 slot ahead of Michael Esser with second choice keeper from last year Radlinger moving to Barnsley. With a good blend of youth and experience in their ranks Hannover will be a force next season in a bid to return to the top flight at the first time of asking. A lot of changes from last year could be a potential weakness as the team adapt to new surroundings.

Target

Promotion will be the main target for Hannover this season but there will be no margin for error in a very competitive division.
