Dynamo Dresden were promoted back to the second-tier at the first time of asking, after an impressive campaign which saw them win Liga 3. Manager Alexander Schmidt only took over the club back in April after previous boss Markus Kauczinski was sacked after a poor run. He guided the side to 5 wins from their last 7 matches and will be hoping to make an impression this coming season. The club have recruited well in the summer to give themselves the best chance of stabilizing again after a difficult few years. Borrello is a decent addition to the squad and will be the driving force on the right wing. Schroter, Seo and Herrmann are also expected to play a part in the midfield areas. In defence they have brought Aidonis on loan from Stuttgart, who is an exciting young prospect looking for consistent game time in central defence. He is joined by experienced centre-back Sollbauer, brought in from Barnsley. Dresden should be brimming with confidence coming off the back of their title win last season and hopefully that will see them off to a positive start. You will expect them to be slightly cautious in their approach but should have goals in them, with the likes of Daferner, Konigsdorffer and Hoisner all chipping in. The step up in class could be an issue for Dresden after their last appearance in this division ended in a rock bottom finish. You would expect them to be more solid this time round but they could still be vulnerable against strong opposition.
