Sandhausen just survived relegation last season after a troubled campaign which saw three different managers take charge. Interim boss Stefan Kulovits did well guiding the club to safety last term and has been given the job of working alongside Gerhard Kleppinger for the upcoming season. The club have had to act smartly over the summer due to the lack of funds. Despite a number of players leaving the club, Sandhausen have recruited well through free transfers. Striker Soukou comes in from Bundesliga club Arminia Bielefeld and should link up well with Keita-Ruel. Goalkeeper Drewes has arrived from Bochum, while Hohn, Diakhite, Ajdini, Okoroji and Testroet have all shown their quality at this level with previous clubs. The two men in charge have been at the club for a while and this should help the team spirit in the camp. Sandhausen will have to work hard in order to get results but the quality in the squad should also not be underestimated. The area of concern would be how quickly the new players settle in, if they are to start badly then it could be another season of struggle and disruption. The owners have shown before that they will make changes if results aren’t going well.

Target

Survival. The aim has to be for Sandhausen to avoid relegation this season but you do feel there is enough quality in the squad for them to be a comfortable mid-table side.
