It was a disappointing season for Hannover last time out, things looked promising up until the new year but results dipped dramatically thereafter and they eventually finished an underwhelming 13th in the table. Jan Zimmermann has replaced Kenan Kocak at the helm during the summer and has his work cut out to get Hannover competing at the top end of the division again. He is inexperienced at this level but comes highly recommended after leading TSV Havelse up to the third-tier last season. Due to financial losses, the club hasn't been as active as they would have hoped in the transfer market. The loss of main man Haraguchi is also a blow but they have brought in more than an adequate replacement with Sebastian Ernst arriving from Furth, the attacking midfielder was influential last season and should bring goals and assists. Two more Sebastian's in Kerk and Stolze have also arrived and will bring good experience at this level. The pair should also provide goals, so going forward you expect Hannover to be dangerous. Defensively is where you feel their weaknesses could lie, key defender Timo Hubers has left for Koln and has yet to be replaced.

Target

Top six. Hannover in their current situation are unlikely to push for promotion, despite their history, the fight to get back to the top flight is a long process and a top six finish would be the first step to build on.
