Vitória had an incredible season in the 2023 Serie B, comfortably winning the title. The club underwent a major rebuild in its squad for the top league. They brought in players with experience in the first division, such as midfielders Jean Mota, Willian Oliveira, Luan Vieira, and forwards Luiz Adriano, Alerrandro, and Everaldo. Vitória didn't lose any key players in the transfer window. The team still remains a mystery. Many of the newly signed players arrived in March and couldn't be registered for the state championship, thus playing few matches. Even with that, they managed to win the Campeonato Baiano, beating their biggest rivals and title favourites Bahia in the final. Vitória managed to assemble a balanced squad to compete in Serie A, with players of similar levels in midfield. Up front, center-forward Alerrandro is having a great start to the season, and the club also acquired experienced Luiz Adriano to compete for the position. The central defensive partnership of Camutanga and Wagner Leonardo also stands out positively. Two points could hinder Vitória's season. Firstly, integrating the new players into the team, as many of them couldn't play in the state championship and won't have time to adapt before the league begins. Secondly, the right-wing position. The starter, Osvaldo, is 36 years old and doesn't seem capable of playing at a good level for the entire season.
