Last season was a disappointing one for 'Colorado', having finished in a poor 9th place, away from the top places and even out of Libertadores playoff. Internacional payed the price for having had a complete focus in Libertadores, at one point, having been eliminated in semi-finals of that competition. In 2024, Inter has suffered a major disappointment already. After a great regular stage in Campeonato Gaúcho (State Championship). Internacional succumbed to Série A Juventude on the semi-final, to the fans exasperation. To make it worse, arch-rivals Grêmio were to win the competition for the 7th time in a row. The squad looks much stronger than last season, though, with the departure of the players that were heavy loads more than useful units (mainly Luiz Adriano) and the arrival of very promising new signings. At the back, Robert Renan and Bernabei are strong players to add up to an already established group of defenders; Hyoran and Thiago Maia are important additions to midfield, and there are hopes that the veteran Fernando (former Man City, FC Porto and Sevilla) still has some gas on the tank to drive Inter midfield. In attack, three major arrivals: winger Wesley and strikers Alario and Borré. The fans are particularly exciting about the last one. At 28, Borré still wants to live up to the expectations raised when he was a promising young kid at Deportivo Cali and an exciting young adult at River Plate. The main concern for the fans is the fact that coach Eduardo Coudet is known for his inconsistent management and questionable options at times. Concerning the squad, the only significant departure was that of technical holding midfielder Johnny, and it's questionable that Fernando (or Maia, or Bruno Henrique) will make the fans forget about the Brazilian-American.

Target

Aim for a place in top-6, maybe top-4. With the right management, Inter could even try to compete with the best teams in the country for the top of the table.
