Atlético Goianiense managed to clinch promotion despite a season of ups and downs. The team found stability after the arrival of coach Jair Ventura, having the best campaign of the second half of the season. Atletico has reshaped its squad, bringing in some young players such as Rodríguez; Zuleta; Cruz along with players with more experience in the 1st division, such as Vágner Love; González; Kal; Roni. They have made a great start to the season, winning the Campeonato Goiano after a run of 15 victories in a row. However, they're playing opponents of a much inferior level to those they'll meet in Serie A, so this shouldn't be their reality for the remainder of the year. For this season Atlético will have a deep and balanced squad, featuring young players that could possibly have a breakout season; veterans; and guys who are nearing their peak such as key players Shaylon and Luiz Fernando. The number of changes in the squad can be hard to handle. Coach Ventura won't have much time to find his ideal team to play in the top flight, and the club will start the season against a strong Flamengo. A bad start could jeopardize the entire season.
