The 2023 season was somewhat disappointing for Red Bull Bragantino. Despite playing good football and achieving positive results for much of the season, the team experienced a significant drop in the final weeks of the season, dropping out of the title race and failing to secure a spot even in the group stage of the Copa Libertadores. The beginning of 2024 has also been irregular for them, as they were eliminated in the early stages of the Copa Libertadores and will now compete in the Copa Sudamericana. Bragantino's transfer window was quiet. Only three players arrived: young defenders Douglas Mendes and Nathan Mendes, along with midfielder Lincoln. Furthermore, the team lost two starters from the defensive line: center-back and captain Léo Ortiz and right-back Aderlan. Bragantino's greatest strength lies in the continuity of Manager Pedro Caixinha's work. Under his command, the team showcased quality football for much of the 2023 season and achieved good results. Additionally, the midfield sector boasts players of great quality, such as Matheus Fernandes, Lucas Evangelista, and the new signing Lincoln. On the other hand, the center-back position is viewed with skepticism. The team did not bring in a replacement for Léo Ortiz in defense, and instead, the fullback Luan Cândido has been filling the position. The limited activity in the transfer window suggests that Bragantino will provide opportunities to the young players in the squad, making them a team with little experience.
