Grêmio had a great season in 2023, finishing 2nd in their first season after promotion back from Serie B. The club suffered the loss of its best player, striker Luis Suárez, in the transfer window. On the other hand, the team has brought in good names for their attack, such as Soteldo, Pavón and Diego Costa. They also added depth to the midfield with the arrivals of Du Queiroz and Dodi. Grêmio have made a good start to the season and have won the Campeonato Gaúcho for the seventh time in a row. During the campaign, Diego Costa, Luis Suárez's replacement as striker, put in some great performances. Grêmio promises to have a strong attack for the season. In addition to the players already mentioned, young winger Gustavo Nunes showed a lot of quality when he replaced the injured Soteldo for a few weeks. They also have a midfield with quality and a lot of mobility. There is concern about the team's defence, especially in the centre-back position. It was a negative point in last year's campaign, when the team suffered 56 goals in the league. They didn't bring any center-backs in the transfer window and will rely on veterans Kannemann and Geromel once again.
