It has hardly been the best of summers for Cardiff. Boss Russell Slade was removed from his post despite a reasonable campaign last term. His replacement is Paul Trollope is an underwhelming choice. And if the transfer activities are anything to go by, expectations are not expected to be too high at Cardiff City Stadium. In fact the only signing of note is the arrival of striker Frederic Gounogobe from KVC Westerlo. Following the loss of Kenwyne Jones, who has finally left the club after a number of years of threatening to do so, the Bluebirds appear somewhat lightweight up-front. It is difficult to see them doing too much this term although they will hope to ensure that Cardiff City Stadium remains a very difficult place for opposing teams to visit.

Target

They will aim for the play-offs but that is unlikely to happen unless further additions are made to the squad.
