It has been a rather quiet summer for Birmingham City. Gary Rowett worked wonders last term on a slim squad and they flirted with the play-offs despite their limited resources. A similar season to last would be deemed a real success after continued off the field problems. A takeover remains close but Birmingham need that to happen before they can become a stable club again. Rowett continues to be linked with other clubs and you get the impression that their manager is the most important part of the club. Transfers have been slow although they have now made loan players Robert Tesche, James Vaughan and Ryan Shotton permanent additions to the squad. It appears though that they are lacking in the way of quality up-front.

Target

A top ten finish would be regarded as very successful.
