Midtjylland failed to defend their title. Finished a single point behind Copenhagen. This despite having by far the best attack (64 goals scored in 32 games) and the most wins (19) last term. Losing 3 times against Borndby proved their undoing. The inability to beat this particular opponent was the main reason why the Wolves failed to win back-to-back titles. Despite missing their top goalscorer from the title-winning 2023/24 campaign Gue-sung Cho all of last season, ACL tear, Midtjylland still had the best attack. Summer arrival Adam Buksa scored 12 league goals, Franculino added 11. Both of them are still on the team. Now with Cho fit again Midtjylland’s attack is bound to be very productive. Yet to make any major moves to strengthen the ranks but none of the departures have been vital players either. Playmaker Dani Silva arrived only last winter. He struggled to adapt to life in Denmark in the spring. Hopes are he can do much better this term, now he had a summer camp with his new teammates. If he finds good understanding with the other star midfielder Oliver Sørensen the Wolves will easily dominate the ball in almost every game. 21-year-old centre-back Ousmane Diao emerged as a mean rock at the back last term. If Midtjylland fend off serious interest from several clubs for him Diao has the potential to be the best defender in Superliga 3F this season. Likely to use often a bunch of other young and very promising players. All of Osorio, Castillo, Gogorza and Byskov, all age 22 or younger, should see their minutes increase a lot this season. Won’t be a major surprise if at least two of them establish as regular starters too.

Target

Will be determined to reclaim the title. Have the personnel and the depth to be major contenders. Top 3 finish looks guaranteed no matter what.
