Nordsjaelland had to do something about their finances. Last winter they went on sale-mode. Parted ways with six regulars during the long winter break. Opted to trust largely young, most 18 or 19, Academy players in the second part of the season. Just about sneaked into the top 6 but never challenged for a top 4 finish proper. That said, several of those youngsters impressed a lot. The push to sell talent and generate funds, while developing their own teenagers seems to be still ongoing. Already sold their main playmaker Mario Dorgeles, received a 5-figure sum for him. Reinvested only a small fraction of that to sign a solid replacement. Nicklas Røjkjær arrived from Swedish leaders Mjallby. He’s having a great 2025 so far, will be in great match shape immediately, and should become the new main ball-distributor in the middle of the park. The other main departure was that of top goalscorer Nygren. His 15 league goals from last season will be missed. It seem 19-year-old Levy Nene will be tasked to lead the attack this year. He showed flashes of brilliance in limited usage last term. He also missed plenty of time injured, so having only him as a typical striker is a risky strategy. At least 4-5 other teenagers will likely be starting often. Sindre Egeli, Caleb Yirenkyi, Lucas Högsberg and Juho Lähteenmäki already established as regulars. They are all still 19-year-olds. The only area of the team where experience still dominates is the defence. 30-year-old goalie Andreas Hansen is one of the more solid shot-stopped in Denmark. Captain Hansen (36-years-old) and winter arrival Salquist (30-years-old) remain the main backbone of the back four. Peter Ankersen, 34, will also likely feature often as part of the defensive line. Expected to be dangerous on the road this season. Have lots of fast young players in the forward positions. All summer their transition attack was very productive during the friendlies.

Target

Top 6 finish will be nice. The main goal though is to develop as many youngsters as possible, while also staying out of trouble.
