Solid last season that had a painful ending. Played very well against the teams from the bottom half of the table. Secured fourth place at the end of the regular season as a result. Stayed in the same position after the play-offs. This saw them contest the final visa for Europe against the Play-off II winners Silkeborg. Despite hosting the match Randers lost 1:3 so they failed to reach Europe. Simen Nordli was voted Player of the Season last term. With his 14 goals and 13 assists he was sensational. For now Nordli stays put and if Randers can keep him they will believe they can mount another strong push towards European visas. So far no major new signings have been made, the two new arrivals at the moment of writing are seen as back-ups and come from the relegated Lyngby. The good news is that only fringe players have departed the squad up to now. Basically bringing back the same personnel, coach and tactical approach means Randers will run things again the same way and just hope for a bit more luck when it matters most. Likely to continue favouring the 4-4-2 shape, in it Nordli operates as a left midfielder. In some games can shift to 4-3-3, used this formation often in pre-season. In it, Nordli plays in advanced role. If he does that often he could easily be even more productive this term.

Target

Hope to make the top 6. Will struggle to do so if Nordli gets sold.
