Fortuna Sittard had a horrible start to the season with just 3 points in the first 10 games and then, thanks to the change on the bench from Kevin Hofland to Sjors Ultee, they had a rebirth that led them to coming close to gaining a spot in the playoffs. So far, the summer transfer market hasn't brought any major changes. There have been many movements but not ones which have affected the most important players....the backbone of the team remains the same. Apart from the many returns from loans, the new faces are those of the German goalkeeper Felix Dornebusch, the young Turkish midfielder Yigit Emre Celtik and the interesting attacking midfielder Arianit Ferati. Surely the club needs some more signings, especially to shore up the defense which currently has too few men, in particular central defenders and right-backs are needed. Sjors Ultee, who obviously has been confirmed on the Sittarders bench, will use the same 4-3-3 used all last season. The strengths will still be the left wing with the excellent left back George Cox and the midfield made up of Flemming, Tekie and Rienstra who are the right mix of quality and quantity. In attack will be the fast striker Semedo, the talented Seuntjens and probably the center-forward Polter, looking to redeem himself from a disappointing season.

Target

The team is well established, the players know each other and know the coach's tactics well, however the roster lacks depth in many roles. Realistically, Sittard will sail in the middle-lower part of the table.
