Topped their mini-league easily after securing 13 wins in 18 rounds. Scored 37 goals in these 18 matches. After that beat Miyazaki 1:0 to get to the tournament’s final. There lost on penalties against Vegalta Sendai and had to settle with second place. Generated lots of money with this great run and used a lot of them in the summer. Added 11 new players. The funds from the Vision League allowed Toyama to absorb wages and many top teams decided to loan them talented players. The success of the Vision League was mainly due to the great team effort. No player scored more than 6 goals and yet as a team Toyama netted 39 goals in 20 matches. More of them same can be expected going forward. Have much bigger squad now and should be doing better. Still, not likely to have enough quality for a promotion push but much calmer second season back in J2 after long absence should be easily achieved.
