Sagan Tosu failed to bounce back to the top flight straight away. For long they looked play-off bound. However, dip in the form late on saw them finish only eighth. The main issues were in attack. No player had more than 6 league goals last season. More of the same was witnessed during the Vision League. Despite scoring 24 goals in 18 matches during the league phase nobody scopred more than 4. This was only enough for a prestigious 11th place in the final standings but nothing more. There is major hope the attack will have a true star this season. Hiroto Yamada returned to Sagan in April and after his arrival he scored 4 goals in just 8 starts. Also, added Korean striker Park and experienced typical target-man Takahashi to the ranks this summer. Between the three of them there has to be improvement up front. The arrivals of playmaker Yamauchi, solid centre-backs Abe and Kimoto, hint at better options in the other areas of the pitch too. All-in-all Sagan look to have strengthened well and they are gearing up for a strong push towards promotion.
