Memorable 2025 saw them secure their first-ever promotion to the J2. Finished the regular season only in fourth place but then impressive play-off run led to a promotion. Beat Kagoshima 2:0 and FC Osaka 4:0 in the play-offs so their rise was never in much doubt. Had the most wins in regulation in all of the Vision League in spring. Able to win 15 of their 18 league games, lost only once in regular time. Topped their mini-league but then lost in the semi-final and had to settle only for third place. Still, the displays impressed a lot. Lack depth in midfield and in defence. None of the summer arrivals projected to be starting often. Miyazaki seem happy to put their trust on the group that orchestrated the promotion. Last year’s top goalscorer Keigo Hashimoto and main playmaker Okamura often deal with injuries. It is very risky to not add depth for these roles. That said if the pair can stay healthy all season Miyazaki could become a pleasant surprise. Despite the strong form during the Vision League the overall feeling is that Miyazaki’s squad is still lacking depth in vital positions. Also, there is not that much J2 experience among the current group of players.
