The toothless attack in 2025 proved their undoing. Relegated from J1 after finishing in 16th place. Scored just 27 goals in 38 rounds. Still achieved 9 wins but not enough draws and this was costly. Played much more aggressive and expansive football in spring during the Vision League. Finished only 13th but scored 34 goals in the 18 rounds of the league phase. Joao Paulo and Lucian were productive in those matches after both of them struggled in J1 before that. Young Kyo Hosoi developed very well during the spring. He showed flashes of brilliance. Scored several stunners, defended well and most importantly was producing 2.1 big chances per 90 minutes on the pitch. Hosoi should play even bigger role this term. Joao Paulo also expected to be trusted to lead the attack in most games after scoring 7 goals in 11 starts during the Vision League. Wide midfielder Shimamura is seen as a great addition. He should make the right flank his. Between him and Hosoi Yokohama could easily have two of the most creative players in J2 this season. Concerns still remain defensively but at least the scoring record is shaping to be much better this season.
