LA Galaxy have pressed the reset button once again as they look to reclaim their glory days following another disastrous campaign last year which saw them finish 10th in the Western Conference. LA have brought in a star name on the sidelines with Greg Vanney replacing interim coach Dominic Kinnear. Vanney though has a big challenge on his hands if he is to lead LA back into the playoffs especially after the club has parted ways with three of their key players from last season. LA failed to agree to a deal to extend Cristian Pavon's loan at the club while first choice keeper David Bingham and Rolf Feltscher have also parted ways. LA have brought in Jonathan Bond on a free transfer from West Bromwich Albion and is expected to start the season as the first choice keeper. Derrick Williams has been signed as a replacement for Feltscher while Samuel Grandsir and Kevin Cabral will provide the attacking thrust from the flanks. Jorge Villafana and Victor Vazquez will provide the MLS experience with Vanney underlining Vazquez's importance in helping Javier Hernandez finally turn his move to LA into a success. LA are looking at another period of transition and much will depend on how soon the new signings settle down though fans and Vanney may have to wait for another season to see LA turn into serious challengers for a place in the playoffs, with the coach himself admitting the roster is not yet complete ahead of the season kickoff.

Target

Returning back to the playoffs will be the immediate target for Vanney in his first season in charge.
