Orlando City experienced their most successful campaign in the MLS, finally achieving their aim of making it to the playoffs where they went as far as the Conference semifinals. Orlando have held on to the core of their squad ahead of the new season with Nani, Mauricio Pereyra and Junior Urso all expected to put up more consistent performances in their second season at the club. Lack of a consistent goal scoring threat upfront remains Orlando's biggest weakness and they have looked to address the issue by bringing in former AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato. Silvester van der Water is the other major arrival and is expected to improve the options on the flanks, especially following Nani's struggles with fitness issues last season. With regards to departures, Dom Dwyer's stay at the club is over though the attacker will not be missed too much after making just 18 starts in last two seasons, just two of them coming in the most recent campaign. Kamal Miller and Daryl Dike will be seen as bigger losses with the duo providing good depth in the defense and the attack respectively though coach Oscar Pareja will be confident in his squad to achieve a place in the post season once again come the end of the campaign.

Target

Qualifying for the playoffs will remain the minimum expectation.
