Football Season Guide

In the past season Pro Vercelli avoided relegation at the very last round with great effort and a little of good luck (without Virtus Lanciano's points deduction Pro would have been involved in the playouts!). As expected from the beginning it was a very hard and difficult campaign, quite surprisingly the club decided to confirm coach Cristiano Scazzola, however the trust of the club didn't last long and after only 8 rounds was replaced by former Cittadella Foscarini who managed to make the most with the players at his disposal, often changing system of play to adapt the team to the opponent's game, but also because of the few alternatives available in case of injuries or suspensions. At the end of the season Foscarini resigned and the bench was entrusted to Moreno Longo. Despite his predecessor, the former coach of Torino Primavera usually opts for a very attacking 4-3-3...to verify if he will stick to this system of play for the all season. Unlike the previous year, Pro in August made many moves on the transfer market. Unfortunately goalkeeper Pigliacelli went back to Pescara, but was replaced by Provedel. Another important loss is the one of centre-forward Marchi who, after a very disappointing season, decided to leave. Anyway as for the inbound market the Piedmontese club was very active, they signed some important players such as centre-forward Ebagua, Albanian attacking midfielder Vajushi and former Frosinone midfielder Altobelli. About their approach to the new season the whites easily defeated Reggiana in the second round of Coppa Italia but were then thrashed by Torino.
