Major issues on the road led to an inconsistent record W13 D12 L11 and only 7th spot in the final standings. Trabzon had the 3rd best home record but they went full 8 months without an away win and this was costly. The form eventually improved from March onward when Tekke was appointed as the new HC. He found a way to find some balance between attack and defence on the road. With his 19 league goals last season Simon Banza was the main beacon up front. He has returned to his parent club now. However, he was only a temporary fix for Trabzon so they can find the funds to sign their true target Paul Onuachu. The Nigerian led Trabzon’s attack in 2023/24. In 21 league appearances back then he had 15 goals and 4 assists. His return to the club bodes well for Trabzon’s attack. Ukrainian forwards Zubkov and Sikan should be supporting Onuachu well. They both arrived in the winter and by late spring both have become important players. Had the 5th best defence last season. This with the team’s best CB Savic missing most of the campaign injured. If Savic can stay fit now Trabzon’s stability at the back should be even better. The midfield line remains well stocked up with all of the starters staying put. French CM Tim Jabol-Folcarelli had only limited exposure after his arrival last winter. He’s likely to be used much more this season. His ability to play both as a DM and AM makes him a valuable piece.
