All change at Cardiff City Stadium with the highly rated Malky Mackay handed the reigns after Dave Jones departed. The Bluebirds have notably also said goodbye to last season’s top scorer and recent England international Jay Bothroyd while Chris Burke has also gone through the exit door. Craig Bellamy has returned to Manchester City following a successful spell at his hometown club, but there are not obvious signs that he will come back. Nevertheless, Mackay has gone on a noteworthy spending spree with Rob Earnshaw, Kenny Miller, Don Cowie and Aron Gunnarsson standout signings. Cardiff have been there or thereabouts in the last few seasons and finished beaten semi-finalists in the play-offs to Reading. Their passionate supporters crave Premier League football especially now bitter rivals Swansea City have reached the promised land.

Target

After recent years of disappointment, Cardiff will hope they can finally achieve promotion under the new man at the helm.
