Neil Kilkenny (midfielder, Bristol City), Bradley Johnson (midfielder, Norwich), Kasper Schmeichel (goalkeeper, Leicester)

Inconsistency cost Leeds last term and they fell apart alarmingly late in the season to miss out on the play-offs. It has not been the most promising pre-season either for a club where fans’ expectations are very high indeed. Goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel along with regular midfielders Neil Kilkenny and Bradley Johnson have both left Elland Road while at the time of writing, only goalkeepers Paul Rachubka and Andy Lonergan have signed. With Luciano Becchio, last season’s top scorer, missing the start of the season through injury, Leeds may lack the strength in depth to challenge at the very top. However, Elland Road is an intimidating place and Leeds may rely on their fans to help win them games.

Target

Supporters will expect nothing less than promotion, but Leeds will be fortunate to make the top six.
