A fairly quiet summer for Dougie Freedman in his first pre-season as a club manager and Palace will want a much better season than the last two offerings where they really flirted with relegation. Neil Danns is the standout departure and his presence in midfield will be greatly missed for a side that often lacked bite. Glenn Murray is a useful signing from Brighton in attack though and Freedman will hope his goals can help Palace further up the table. Last time out Palace were exceptional at home and with Julian Speroni excelling in goal, kept numerous clean sheets. But just one win on their travels meant Palace were always looking over the shoulders. Their form away from Selhurst Park is likely to determine whether the Eagles are set for another relegation battle.

Target

Freedman will hope a mid-table spot is well within reach.
