Football Season Guide

Doncaster start the season under pressure already with the realisation that they have won just two matches since New Year’s Day. Such form, not helped by the loss through injury of key men Billy Sharp and James Coppinger, meant they were flouting with relegation after an excellent first half to the season and another season of struggled is expected. Rovers have held on to Sharp and Coppinger and if the strike pair are fully fit, may not have many worries. Kyle Bennett, Tommy Spurr and Richard Naylor are useful signings but strength in depth is once again an issue. Sean O’Driscoll showed his commitment to the club by turning down approaches last season but it remains to be seen how long Doncaster can keep hold of him.
