Dordrecht had some improvement in the spring after a dismal first half of the last season but as a whole there was little reason to be content with a campaign that saw them concede the most goals in the league and lost 19 out of 38 games. Michele Santoni will be once again given the brief to coach and give a chance to young players, with results secondary priority, as the Sheepheads loo to unearth some promising players and try to sell them for a profit down the line. None of the new signings are players with much first-team experience, apart from Elso Brito, coming from the Polish league, and they are all very much unknown quality. On the other hand, the few impressive performers from last season in Pascu, Jacky Donkor and Christian Conteh are no longer around and it is very hard to see this team scoring too many goals or being creative enough to give too many teams a problem. Therefore, Dordrecht look set for another season at the bottom of the standings and it will take something special for them to move into the mid-table echelons.
