Football Season Guide

PSV U21 were pretty impressive at times last season as they went on some good winning runs and delivered entertaining performances, even if consistency was naturally in short supply. Ruud van Nistelrooy now moved up to take charge of the first-team squad and the new manager of the U21s is Adil Ramzi, who was part of the first team coaching staff in the last three years and is taking over as a first-team manager for a first time. He is unlikely to deviate too much from the overall philosophy at the club of playing fast, direct football and using speedy wingers, something that made PSV U21 quite a pleasing watch at times last season. Yet he is not expected to haver the star of the show from last season, Johan Bakayoko, on too many occasions as he is making the step to the first-team this year. On the other hand, someone like Fofa Fofana was hampered by injuries last season but has the talent to really break through and score loads of goals this season. Some established players from last season's squad in Nigel Thomas, Matias Kjolo and Nathan Markello are not around any more but there are still enough decent players who are still part of the squad and PSV have every chance to be the most competitive of the four youth sides competing in the division this season.
