Sven Swinnen will continue as head coach of Helmond Sport after taking control in February earlier this year. He will be looking for his side to improve on their last-placed finish last season. There have been a vast array of changes to the squad after their hugely disappointing campaign last term. Many regulars at the back have departed the club after being one of the leakiest sides in the Eerste Divisie. Tom Beugelsdijk, Bram van Vlerken, Gabriel Culhaci, Daniel Breedijk, Emir Terzi and Flor van den Eynden have all come in to improve the defence. Regular Jarno Lion has also left the club after making 31 league appearances last season, alongside a number of squad players in midfield, including Gatan Bosiers and Sander Vereijken. Midfield reinforcements come in the form of Elmo Lieftink from De Graafschap who has a large understanding of the football in this division. Wassim Essanoussi also joins from VVV-Venlo who played a bit part role for the fellow Eerste Divisie side last campaign. However, the attacking department has seen the most changes, with most of last year's depth leaving the club in the form of Dylan Seys, Jessy Hendrikx, Keyennu Lont and Amoros Nshimirimana. Only Seys was able to contribute with goals. Helmond have added attacking options as Eros Maddy, Martijn Kaars and Peter van Ooijen join from their former Eerste Divisie sides. They know the league well and will be hoping to add some much needed firepower here.

Target

Improve upon a bottom three finish from last season.
