Gaziantep FK were one of the surprise packages last season, finishing 8th in their 1st season at the top level. With a 532 formation, which is just used by them in the league, they were unable to build steady runs, but hurt lots of strong teams like Besiktas, Galatasaray, Trabzon and Sivas. During the whole season, they did not struggle to score, but they also recorded few clean sheets. Most of their foreign players were not of a high level, but they harmonised with the coach’s style. On the road, they could be very dangerous with their speedy attackers. It is thus a very good news that the board will continue to work with coach Sumudica. The fans saw some departures in the summer. The most important departures are those of Kayode and Twumasi. They added Cenk Sahin, but his arrival is not enough. The board signed Maxim on a permanent deal after the Romanian player did a great job last seaon. In the midfield, Kozulj was signed in, but he has been far from action since March. So his performance is a question mark. The defence line is still the same and the coach should welcome more offensive support from Djilobodji. Caglar Akbaba arrived following the depature of Haydar Yilmaz. He should suppport Gunay Guvenc well. If they bring one more attacker, they will have everything they need to repeat last season’s success.

Target

They saved most of their structure and target a top 8 finish. They also aim at improving their cup run.
