It was a tough first season in the second-tier for Preußen Munster last time out, but they did enough to survive. The brave decision to sack head coach Hildmann with just three games remaining proved to be a masterstroke as interim Pander led the side to safety with two wins and a draw. This wasn’t enough for Pander to get the job permanently, with the club choosing to recruit former player Alexander Ende as their new coach. He got the best out of his previous club Verl on a small budget and is expected to bring a more intense and courageous style of play. The transfers so far should bring some optimism ahead of a new campaign. Bastia-Meier impressed in his short stint at Ulm last season and should help bring some creativity in the final-third. Defensive duo Meyerhofer and Jaeckel will add some invaluable experience while striker Vilhelmsson from Darmstadt could also be a smart signing, if he can stay fit. Munster are likely to play with more risk this season which could see them stronger offensively, however this could lead to vulnerabilities at the back, if they can find balance between the two, they could spring a surprise or two.

Target

There is some optimism that Preußen can avoid relegation danger this season, but this will of course be difficult given the quality of teams in the division. Target - 12th to 15th.
