Roda can look back on last season as one where they made genuine progress and got better as the season went on, getting some decent results against top sides and holding onto play-off spot. There they even progressed in a round after beating De Graafschap but eventually got hammered 3:0 away at NEC and their dream was over. Yet Jurgen Streppel and his squad have shown that they can be a force to be reckoned with and he has the building blocks to make this team better. He managed to retain the services of most of his key players as Richard Jensen, Xander Lambrix and top scorer Patrick Pfucke are all still with Roda ahead of the new season. Thijmen Goppel is someone who will be missed after he moved to Germany while Danny Bakker set the tone in midfield and leaves a gap after leaving. But Roda bagged some new players too as Guus Joppen is a good addition in defence, where he will bring more experience and competition for places. Rody de Boer should be a reliable goalkeeper at this level. Roda will look to bring more options in the final third, especially in the wide areas, but have the look of a well-rounded side that should be able to hold down to a play-off spot and improve on last season's results.

Target

Look in good shape for a challenge for the top six and with a bit of luck might get promoted.
