Den Bosch were consistently one of the two worst sides in the league last season, along with Dordrecht, and really never managed to get on a half-decent run of form and escape the bottom places. They looked like a side unable to keep it tight at the back and, even if they had a player who got into 20 goals in Jizz Hornkamp, they looked really lightweight and easy to play against. Jack de Gier took over in February and now is aiming to make the most of a pre-season as he tries to construct a more functional and robust side that will be ready to hold their own at this level. Yet the summer business has been so far really underwhelming as Victor van den Bogert, a solid defender from Willem II, is the only new signing ready for first team action. On the flip side, experienced players like Paco van Moorsel, Junior van der Velden and Dwayne Green are off and that leaves Den Bosch with a mostly bare squad and very few players that can make a difference. Hornkamp is certainly target of bigger clubs and may well leave too while De Gier will be hoping for some new signings in due course. Yet this Den Bosch side looks very limited in their potential, even if Ringo Meerveld, Kevin Felida and Ryan Trotman looked good in spades last season, and will need to bring more quality and experience to make them a tougher opponent for the rest of the league. Thus, they look primed for another season spent in the lower end of the table.

Target

Will aim for a spot in mid-table after a really poor campaign last year.
