Telstar were one of the surprise packages in the first half of last season as they played fearless football and were easy on the eye. Yet they lost pace as the season went on and a poor run of form in the spring saw them finish way down at 13th, having been in the play-off race for most of the season. Andries Jonker will now look to build on the positives from last season and try to find a few more gems from the new signings that will make the squad more competitive. As usual with a club of Telstar's size, they lost most of their eye-catching players from last season, with ten-goal defender Ilias Bronckhorst earning a boost to the Eredivisie. Anass Najah is another important player to lose while Jasper Schendelaar was excellent on goal last season. But this team still has its strengths as Gyliano van Velzen and Glynor Plet make for an excellent pair up front, with the latter getting a whooping 19 goals last season. In midfield, Tom Overtoom and Sven van Dorm form a good partnership and new signing Anwar Bensabouh could be a revelation. The outlook for Telstar is overall pretty positive as they do have depth in the ranks and options to call upon, while some players have room to improve and could become a side that challenges for the play-offs.
