With their star player (Vecchia) departed, the 2021 season was always going to be difficult for Sirius. New young coach Backstrom was in charge and struggling for consistency they finished in 11th position. Sirius were never in serious relegation trouble, but never quite escaped from the threat either. Midfielder Netabay has moved on to Kalmar with Ortmark choosing IFK Norrkoping for 2022. Lundholm has also departed from midfield. Regular right-back Stahl has switched to Mjallby with left-back Widgren returning to Hammarby after his loan spell. Another starting defender, Colley, has also left the club. Strikers Bulut and Persson have moved on, but with only 2 goals between them they will not be missed too much. Sirius have made some notable signings over the winter. Goalkeeper Vaiho has joined from Djurgardens on loan. Defenders Da Graca, Murbeck and Wright bring strength to their defence. Rogic joins their midfield after a successful season at AIK, with Olsson also signing after a strong season in the Superettan at Landskrona. Striker Edi Sylisufaj has signed permanently after a loan spell from Falkenberg. Sirius have lost some experience from their defence and midfield. They have tried to compensate with a few key signings but could be set to struggle. If their main striker Kouakou is injured at some point, then they will struggle to score goals.

Target

Finding consistency and a mid-table finish without a relegation scare would be respectable.
