After some consecutive seasons getting used to see their team fighting for the places within the European Zone, Nacional fans aren’t certainly impressed by last season’s 11th place, specially the first lap performances. Manuel Machado will continue to be at the helm and despite some important departures: namely long time serving iconic and versatile João Aurélio and goalkeeper Gottardi, both leaving to join rival teams (Guimarães and Marítimo, respectively). The team did well in the market this time around and names like César Martins, Victor Garcia and Tobias Figueiredo (on loan from each of the Big-3 Portuguese teams) will give defense more stability, while Roniel and Jhonder Cádiz are expected to bring some goal action into Nacional.

Target

Anything close to last season’s standing will be deemed as unacceptable by fans. Nacional is supposed to be competing for European places and so they are expected to do this next season.
