After winning the title in 2024/25 had a miserable last season. The Lions failed to even make the top 6. Only 8 wins during the regular season (5 draws and 9 defeats) sent them in Play-off II. There dominated easily though and the late revival after the managerial change in April sort of saved the campaign from being a total disaster. Bo Svensson replaced Neestrup at the helm in early April. His arrival brought a 7-game winning streak. As a result Copenhagen reached the Danish Cup final and also in the decisive play-off for the final European visa beat bitter city rivals Brondby 3:1 after extra times. Svensson now has a full pre-season to shape the squad the way he wants it. Under him the Lions started to score lots of goals and attacking approach for the season ahead is guaranteed. Up front Larsson and Moukoko scored 24 league goals between them. They should benefit from the attacking-style of the new manager and both are expected to reach doubled digit for goals this term too. Only two notable new arrivals so far. Defender Beijmo came from champions Aarhus. With Zanka and Hatzidiakos gone there will be plenty of opportunities for Beijmo to start often. In midfield hopes are that 34-year-old star Delaney can stay fitter compared to last season. When he was on the pitch the Lions dominated the ball. The games he missed exposed Copenhagen and made them vulnerable in transition defence. To address Delaney’s patchy availability added solid Alex Kral to the ranks. He is a similar player that can help a lot. Explosive winger Achouri was another that didn’t play much last season due to various injuries. Only a year earlier he led the league for assists and big chances created. If he can stay healthy now Copenhagen will be much more dangerous on the flanks.

Mounting a title challenge. Top 3 finish is the minimum requirement.
