Only the ability to withstand pressure well and the 8 clean sheets kept by goalkeeper Izzo provided enough points to avoid the drop. The only new arrival this summer so far is a striker. Sankoh is a young and unproven player. Randers hope to develop him but he is most likely going to be used mainly off the bench. The scoring record was slightly better once Caddy was signed in late February. It seems going forward he will be the big hope in attack. There hasn’t been any major departures this summer so the core of the team will be largely the same. This should give Randers good synchrony from the early rounds. Hopes are for a fast start. Young wide midfielder Themsen had an impressive first campaign as a regular last season. If he continues to progress he could be sold for a hefty fee at some stage. As long as he stays at the club he will be tasked to provide quality passes and crosses. Captain Dammers and Høegh remain the backbone of the defence. Together with goalkeeper Izzo they need to stay fit. If all 3 play Randers are a very tough side to score against. Not just that Dammers and Høegh scored 7 goals between them last season via set piece deliveries. Both carry serious aerial threat in such situations.
