Things turned a little stale for Karlsruher last season and this resulted in a mid-season slump. Long-term coach Eichner was able to get them back on track after the announcement of his departure. The KSC will start the campaign with a new coach for the first time since 2020. Austrian Maximilian Senft has been carefully selected as the man to take the club forward and at just 36, he will be one of the youngest managers in the division. Senft has been busy assembling his squad during the summer with 9 new players brought in as well as the permanent signings of striker Fukuda and young defender Scholl. Karlsruher have added depth in midfield with duo Vaananen and Civeja both joining, however young talent Zor has impressed a lot in pre-season and could take one of the starting positions. Eichinger is also a promising addition in a more attacking role. Target man Bronschinski is a bustling centre-forward who can create space with his movement, whether he can score 10-plus goals a season though, remains to be seen. The left-back position also needed strengthening after the loss of Herold so newcomers Ofli and Bergh will battle it out for the starting place. In Senft Karlsruher have a tactically astute coach who will not be afraid to mix things up, there is plenty of young talent on board so they will be dangerously unpredictable. Strength in depth could be an issue if injuries hit so more proven quality may be needed before the window shuts.

Target

Top-half - Due to the many changes it could take Karlsruher a while to click so patience is required, overall there is enough ability in the squad for them to be pushing for a comfortable top-half position.
