Nurnberg earned a top-half finish last season as they continue to make small steps forward under boss Klose. Klose has looked to improve the squad once more in the summer but keeping hold of their better players is always difficult. Solid centre-back pairing Gruber and Lochoshvili have both moved on, but Kalogeropoulos and Faye have potential to be strong replacements. Rayan Ghreib and Can Moustfa should help bring pace and technical ability on the flanks, something that was lacking last season. The right-back position was also an issue last season, so the addition of experienced Greek Masouras should help bring some stability. Former Norwegian U19 international Sigurd Haugen has also joined in attack, his physicality and poaching ability should help to add goals. With key players Markhiev, Justvan, and Zoma all still on board at present so Nurnberg should be a tough opponent for many, especially in the midfield and attack. There are still concerns defensively with the new recruits inexperienced in the division. A good start is also crucial for morale moving forward.

Top six. Nurnberg are a big club with a large following so naturally a return to the top division is the ultimate goal, however a top-six finish is a more realistic target.
