Hacken won their 1st title as recently as 2022 but they had been going in the wrong direction since. After 8th finish in 2024 last year was even harder with the team managing only 10th place. Lost 13 of their 30 games W9 D8. Only 3 teams conceded more than Hacken’s 50 goals. Of course, the poor 2025 was somewhat expected. To address their financial issues had been selling off star players for 2 years (2024-2025). It seems the books are finally balanced now and this winter things were calmer. That said the only reliable striker Dembe and 3 solid CMs, including captain Gustafson, were sold in the off-season again. The cash injections from their departures officially cleared all of Hacken’s depths though so the atmosphere in the club is relaxed again. Loosing depth in midfield could be a problem. That said in 2025 Academy products Abdoulaye Doumbia (18) and Malte Ljungkull (18) were 1st and 3rd in the Player of the Season voting for the U19s league. Both likely to be much more involved with the senior team this season. Even if only 1 of them develops well Hacken will have another young star to sell. Newcomer David Seger is an experienced CM and he should take the main organising responsibilities from Gustafson in that area. CF Lindgren returns to Sweden after a few frustrating years in England. He’s had injury issues in the past 2 seasons but when fit he can score goals with ease. Hacken expect to have much better defence this year. They paid a huge sum for CB Leo Väisänen last winter only to see him sustain a season-ending injury in the opener. The Finn is ready to help this term and he will be like a new player. On top of that the biggest signing of this winter was another experienced CB Filip Helander. With both of them playing Hacken will stand much better chance of keeping clean sheets.
